Tonnerre S’éclaire (2021–2024) was a series of site-responsive lantern parades and performances created with the town of Tonnerre in Burgundy.

The work took its lead directly from the built environment — the streets, corners and contradictions of the town itself. We explored its scale, its quirks, and its rhythm, from the two great churches in constant dialogue through their bells, to the vast presence of the Hôtel-Dieu.

Through workshops and processions, the town became both stage and collaborator. Lanterns and performances emerged from these encounters, turning familiar spaces into temporary scenes of gathering and celebration.
